British Columbia Film + Media is a not-for-profit society established by the Government of British Columbia in 1987. It has the mandate to expand and diversify the film, television and digital media sectors in British Columbia. BC Film + Media has been integral to the development and production of thousands of British Columbia films and television programs and has played a key role in the training and development of BC resident filmmakers. Since its inception, direct investments to the film and television industry have been in excess of $70 million CAD. BC Film + Media also administers the domestic and foreign tax credit programs, including the Digital Animation or Visual Effects (DAVE) tax credit, on behalf of the Government of British Columbia. Since their introduction in 1998, the tax credit programs have supported over $14 billion CAD in production spending in BC.

Ontario Media Development Corporation (OMDC) is an agency of the Ontario government that facilitates economic development opportunities for Ontario’s cultural media industries, including the film and television, book publishing, interactive digital media, magazine publishing and music industries. OMDC programs and services include domestic and international business development, content and marketing support through a range of funds and initiatives, full-service location consulting and digital location library, and administration of the Ontario tax credits. Ontario supports $1.26 billion in film and television production annually, including international productions and coproductions, with a world-class, cost- competitive industry and one of the largest production and talent pools in Canada. The Canada Media Fund (CMF) champions the creation and promotion of successful, innovative, Canadian content and software applications for current and emerging digital platforms through financial support and industry research. The Canadian Media Production Association (CMPA) is a non-for-profit trade association representing almost 400 Canadian companies involved in the media content production industry. With offices in Ottawa, Toronto and Vancouver, the association promotes the interests of media content producers by lobbying government on policy matters, negotiating labour agreements, offering mentorship programs, copyright and international marketing initiatives, holding an annual conference, and producing annual industry publications.
